Public Space - Physical Distancing Requirements, submitted by Mayor John Cranley, Pursuant to Article III of the Cincinnati Charter, Article XVIII of the Administrative Code of the City of Cincinnati and recent orders from the Ohio Department of Health, I hereby order that all individuals in the public spaces of the City of Cincinnati are required to maintain a minimum if six feet (6') of physical distance from other persons at all times, in order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. The Center for Disease Control has called for a minimum of 6-feet social distancing in public places because, based on what is currently known about this virus and similar coronaviruses, spread from person-to-person happens most frequently among close contracts (within about 6 feet). This order has the force of law and is an emergency measure issued jointly with the Cincinnati Board of Health pursuant to its emergency authority under the Ohio Revised Code. This order shall continue in effect until withdrawn or superseded by future order.
