The Report informs the City Council of litigation developments, including city victories, settlements, and judgments during the 4th Quarter of FY 2025 (April 1, 2025, to June 30, 2025). This report is provided pursuant to ROA 1994, § 2-8-1-5.\r\n\r\nAnalysis: \r\nSettlements and Judgments Greater than $10,000\r\n\t\r\nIn FY 2025 Q4, the City settled nine cases for more than $10,000.00, ranging in cause of action from civil rights, personal injury, and IPRA claims. The cost to the city to settle these matters totaled $604,250.00.\r\n\r\nSettlements and Judgments Less than $10,000\r\n\r\nIn FY 2025, Q4, the City settled one case for fewer than $10,000.00, an IPRA matter. The City paid $5,000.00 to settle this matter.\r\n\r\nCity Victories\r\n\r\nIn FY 2025 Q4, the City reported six victories. These included orders of dismissal, orders granting motions for summary judgment, voluntary dismissal, or settlement in which the City paid no money.
